Abstract

Salinity stress is a major hazard to the world's food supply and is becoming worse as a result of human activities. Mungbean is
appropriately referred to as "poor man's meat" and "rich man's vegetables" since it is an important pulse crop and a rich source
of protein and calories for most people globally. On the other side, salt stress has a detrimental effect on mungbean production
because it results in hormonal imbalance, impaired growth and development, decreased germination, interrupted photosynthesis,
and ultimately lower yields. Therefore, a better knowledge of how plants react to salinity stress is necessary to design mitigation
measures to cope with salt stress. The negative impacts of salt stress and the physiological and biochemical tolerance mechanisms
in mungbean are highlighted in this study.
